  • This ain’t no fashion blog

But today I’m going to talk a little fashion. 😉  Last week I posted about the adorable Jessica Simpson heels I bought.  Last fall I found a great J Simpson bag at Stein Mart.  I pretty much love everything about it and I intend to buy another one of her bags.  It is really nice and looks and feels like a quality bag.  All in all I have been more then impressed with her items.

Well today I couldn’t help myself.  I ran to Stein Mart to look for some flip flops but as I was browsing the sunglasses I noticed she also has sunglasses!  OMG!  I was pretty excited. 😉   A lot of them were a little bigger then I like but I did find a pair that looked great on.  They are a little bigger then my current sunglasses but those are all wonky and drive me nuts.  And these were only $16.99.  Score!  Again these sunglasses feel really nice and much nicer then the other comparable sunglasses.

Bottom line, I love all the Jessica Simpson lines.  She is slowing knocking Nine West out of my life.  I do wonder if she will move to baby items when she pops.  I kind of hope so, though that could be really bad. 😉

  • Well I’ve done it…

The hubs stopped by the Verizon store on his way home and bought me a new iPhone.  I may have ordered a few three cases while at work today.  hehe!

I am still trying to get the damn thing set up but so far I like it.  It is definitely different then my old droid but hopefully I will survive the transition.  I must say this brightened up my day. 😉

  • I feel the earth move

under my feet and man I wish it would stop!  Yessh!

Matt and I arrived in Tampa around 5:30am yesterday morning.  I know this because the boat was SUPER loud as it docked.  Not that I slept much that night anyway.  I have no idea what was going on but I could not fall asleep then I proceeded to have to use the bathroom probably ever hour.  Joy.  Anyway the de-boarding (is that even a word?) process was pretty quick.  I think we were off the boat and in a cab by 8:30ish.

A quick breakfast at Panera and then Jill and Steve dropped me and Matt off at the airport around 10am  Our flight wasn’t scheduled to leave until after 5pm but I found an earlier flight so we hopped in line and crossed our fingers we could get a seat.  There was a small price difference in the tickets and Matt asked what I wanted to do.  “Pay the lady! Give her whatever she wants!”  With that we had 2 tickets on the 1:25 direct flight in to RDU.  Ohhhh Kelly was a happy camper.  This flight arrived in Raleigh almost 2 hours before we would have boarded our original flight.

We pulled in the driveway right at 4:00.  Hello house!  We opened the door and waited for Mr Julio to greet us. I think we may have been more excited to see him then he was to see us.

After we got the car unloaded and settled in Matt mentioned the house was moving.  It was moving for me too.  My mom told me this might happen so we dealt with it and I took a few Dramamine before bed.  This morning I woke up and man oh man I was all over the place.  I grabbed 2 more Dramamine and laid down for a few minutes.  Then Matt got up.  He walked downstairs to turn the hot water heater back up (since I’d already taken a cold shower) and when he returned he asked for some meds.  HAHA!

I think it’s funny he was fine on the boat but needed meds when we got home.  Anyway, as the day went on the “rocking” started to subside.  Now I still feel a little sway but not as bad.  Hopefully this will be gone by tomorrow morning.

We will start posting the travel blogs today, hopefully with pics. 🙂

  • A Post About Shoes

Because let’s face it.  I am officially on vacation and well I’ve been too busy to do a Pinterest post. 🙁  Bad I know.  But anyhoo, I got new new shoes!  Woo hooo!

A few years ago I bought a super cute pair of black patent open toed, sling backs from Target.  They were awesome.  I wore them all the time and they looked amazing.  Well in true fashion I wore those puppies out.  Like I wore them long after the tip of the heel broke off.  Finally I knew I had to throw them away and I was pretty sad.  Anyway, I started looking a few weeks ago for another pair with no such luck.  And last night Matt and I were getting our clothes together when I figured out I couldn’t bring/wear a certain dress because I didn’t have shoes to match.

Today Matt and I were eating lunch before I ran to TJ Maxx to exchange a belt I got him a few weeks ago.  Turns out he needed a bigger size.  Shhh! 😉  As we were talking he was like “and find you another pair of black shoes.”  Okie dokie.  😀

I ran through the shoe section at TJ Maxx {have I mentioned they opened one down the street from my office?  Well they did and I LOVE it!}  I was just about to give up when I saw a super cute pair of nude open toed, sling backs by Jessica Simpson.  They were a size 6 and I decided, although a bit snug, they would work.  Then I turned the corner and realized they had a whole display of them, including a 6 1/2.  Score!  I tried those on and sure enough they fit like a glove sock.  Now I have super cute nude shoes.   I’d been thinking about nude shoes for a while and this pretty much made my decision for me.

    Cute huh?

I noticed once I got home they have a bit more gold then I could see in the store.  In the store they were definitely nude.  Oh well.  You know I love gold shoes too. 😉

  • March Madness

is here!  And for a girl who could care less about basketball I love March Madness.  Or I should say I love the tournament.  I pretty much tolerate basketball during the season but Matt loves it and he is always watching the Wolfpack so I have become a fan, sort of.

If you had told me a few years ago I would be watching the tourney and cheering on teams I would have told you no way in hell!  But alas here we are.  After my divorce I got way more into sports.  Mainly college football because at the time I worked with all guys.  If I wanted to be in the conversation I had to know what was going on and having gone to Auburn helped because I already loved college football.  That was the same year I filled out my first NCAA basketball bracket.  I don’t know exactly how well I did but I had Florida winning it all and they did.  Beginners luck, absolutely!  Now this is just part of my yearly routine.  It helps that work encourages friendly betting and offers a free dinner for the bracket winner.  Oh and did I mention I can watch bball on my computer all day?  Yeah that happens. 🙂

The Pack plays tomorrow at 12:40 so I will be sporting a tee shirt to work and rooting for my fave ACC team.  😉  I might even have them advancing to the next round.  Wish them luck!

  • What to do?

The great phone debate has hit our house.  iPhone vs. Android.  Currently I have the HTC incredible and honestly I think it is pretty darn incredible.  Granted it is my first smart phone but I love the functionality and more importantly I love the SIZE!  In world where “it’s a phone, it’s a tablet” is becoming the norm, I’m not really okay with that.  I have a tablet and I have a phone.  I don’t need a tablephone.  I don’t understand why the Android phones are continuing to get larger.  The 90’s aren’t back!  Give me a small, yet functional phone!  I need something that fits in my hand since I have attachment issues.  😉

Yesterday Matt informed me I was eligible for an upgrade and I could get the iphone if I wanted.  Basically I haven’t asked for a birthday present {hello I got an elliptical} so this is his, you can have this for your birthday if you want gift.  I am fine with that but I hadn’t expected my upgrade to be so soon.  I figured it would be a few months from.  I have not really prepared myself to make the switch.  AHHHH what do I do?  I could hang on to my incredible for a few more months in hopes of a smaller droid, or I could make the switch.

Anyone want to leave a comment with their vote?  you know you want to 😉

  • So apparently

When you have a really few bad days at the casa you come home to this….

    image

Yep, that would be wine, cookies and Easter candy corn (seriously who even knew they made that!)  But that leads me to what a
wonderful husband I have.  I know I say it ohh about once a month but I truly married a wonderful man.

There are so many things he does that make me so grateful I finally found him.  Mind you I had to move allll the way to NC but I think he was well worth the trip. 😉

    I love you Matte!  Happy 10 Monthiversary.  {2 more to go!  Watch out!}

  • Spring is here

Well it has arrived on our door. 🙂  Over the weekend I finally took down the Valentine’s Day wreath and changed it to our Spring wreath.  This burlap wreath is so versatile, it’s great.   Just a few simple changes and it can go from one season/holiday to the next.

  • Man Pleasing Chicken – Pinterest Post 2

I made this recipe Sunday night and I must say it lived up to it’s name.  I’m not a huge chicken fan mainly because most of the time it still tastes like boring old chicken but this was pretty tasty.  The recipe is super simple too.  All you need are a few chicken breasts (or thighs) and 1/2 a cup of Dijon mustard, 1/4 cup of maple syrup and 1 tablespoon of rice wine vinegar.  I ended up using red wine vinegar because I couldn’t find rice wine vinegar at Target and I don’t think it really mattered.

Mix the ingredients together.  I used a large measuring cup.  Then put your chicken breasts in an oven safe dish, salt and pepper both sides.  Next pour the sauce over the chicken but make sure to leave a little for dipping.  I also basted mine about half way through.  I baked my chicken breasts for 30 mins at 450*.

I am definitely adding this recipe to my “must make again” list.  And going forward pinterest posts will receive a PP Two Thumbs up or a PP Fail tag.

Oh I forgot to take pics of the before but here is just how good man pleasing chicken was.

  • Blah

I am having issues with my blog header/page lately.  I want a change, I want to keep the owls but

I want something different.  I feel like I have no creativity lately for this.  Maybe I will find my creative

juices after a week long vacation.  That happens in a WEEK!   Wooo hooo!

In case you haven’t noticed I have added a travel blog tab to the top of the blog.  Matt and I plan to

start documenting our travels.  We really should go back and document our London Trip from a few

years ago.  I will leave that one to the hubs.  😉

PS I’m just trying this out.  I’ve seen a few blogs that do this so we’ll see what I think.
