I’m gonna do it
I am going to try the Oil Cleansing Method. You can click here to check out what it’s all about. I keep seeing this pop up around pinterest and I am dying to try it. Basically it states that oil dissolves oil and is actually good for your skin. I have naturally oily skin, that tends to break out some. And to be honest I’ll try almost anything once. 🙂
The article I linked to says to use Castor Oil and Sunflower Seed Oil but this has proved to be a challenge. I can’t find Sunflower Seed Oil ANYWHERE! And I don’t feel like ordering something online and then not liking it. I’ve seen a few other articles that say to use EVOO and Castor Oil. As luck would have it I have EVOO in the pantry and you can find Castor Oil at the drug store. Score! I am totally picking up some Castor Oil tomorrow.
I did a little research and found Castor Oil has tons of uses as well. {Clearly I will believe anything I find online. 😉 }
I think I will do a two week test with this and see how it goes. I will blog my progress. And if you are lucky I will even take a few progress pics.

It’s been about a year
Since I got off my anxiety meds. I think it was around this time last year that I cut the ties and decided to face my anxiety head on. I was thinking about what I could write and I was pretty sure I had written about stopping before. Well lo and behold I did write a post about my anxiety about 6 or 7 months ago. Shockingly it was pretty much exactly what I was going to say again. {Glad I found it.}
Anyway I’m pretty sure January is the one year mark and I must say I think I’m doing really well. Sure I’ve had a few episodes but for the most part I rarely even think about it now. {YAY me!}
What really made me think of this is the doctor who helped me. I feel like she gave me the encouragement I needed to stop or even to try to stop. This very same doctor has also gone MIA. I saw her a few weeks ago, she ordered some labs, and now I can’t find her. Thankfully it was nothing too important but still, I paid for a service and she hasn’t honored her end. I’m not sure what’s next. I’ve never really had a doctor up and disappear.

I’m in love
with dark nail polish. I’m not sure what it is but I am in LOVE with dark nail polish lately. I’ve gone from grayish black, to gray, to purpley black. This comes from a girl who probably hasn’t painted her nails in YEARS! Sure I’ve had the occasional french manicure but rarely do I ever paint my nails a color. My toes, sure. I love them to be colorful and fun but not on my hands.
This all changed a few months ago. I was painting my toes a deep gray when I decided to try it on my fingernails. Since I had a done an okay job with the polish I decided to leave it on for a few days, just to see. And that ya’ll, is when I fell in love with dark polish. I will say I kind of suck at painting my nails. This latest coat is not great, it has some small bubbles and a few chips already but it’s just so awesome.
Every Sunday, while Matt watches football, I sit at the coffee table and repaint my nails. Ahhh. 😉
P.S. Glitter polish is super awesome but a HUGE pain in the ass to remove. Consider yourself warned.

I may or may not
already have my Valentine’s day wreath on the door. I know it’s a little early but I am really enjoying wreaths. I made a burlap wreath a few months ago as a gift but ended up keeping it.
I have many many plans for this wreath and I am really excited all my hard work paid off. Burlap is kind of a pain in the ass to work with but I got some helpful pointers from a fellow crafter at Joann’s while I was buying it. I’m glad I took her advice. If you mist it and then clip a single string close to the bottom you can pull it out and it gives you a guideline for cutting. It was still messy and somewhat dusty but much easier to work with.
I found a cute heart and ribbon at Michael’s over the weekend and viola. I have a wreath….on my door.

Day 1
Of my new, fingers crossed, workout schedule. The elliptical arrived Friday and Matt and I spent 3 hours that night putting it together. It really wasn’t that difficult but we read the directions and made sure we put it together correctly. 🙂 And by we I mean Matt. 😉
Matt has never really worked out on an elliptical so I think he has been surprised that it really is a pretty good workout. I had planned to workout when I got home today and in my head I was like “oh yeah piece of cake, I’ll just workout for half an hour.” OK. About 5 minutes in I was like I’m not gonna make it the full half hour. So then I set my next, more realistic goal….15 minutes. Woo hooo! I made that goal. 🙂
And you know the best thing, it has a built in FAN!

Happy Friday the 13th!
Just 8 short months ago on this very day Matt and I were saying our vows to one another. Now we are husband and wife. I think it’s kind of fitting (and a little ironic) that on our 8 monthiversary we get this….
That my friends is my elliptical! YAY! Matt is currently downstairs in the process of putting this together. I really am excited. After the last few weeks I definitely think a little stress relief will be good.
Love ya Matt! Happy 8 monthiversary!

Holy Chaos Batman
I had hoped things at work would start to calm down but not so much. I am drowning under a sea of orders. Not to mention the system upgrades still suck. And then I’m being pulled in 20 different directions so I get even further behind. AY YI YI!
I will say I am totally excited that my new elliptical machine will be here tomorrow! YAY! I had talked to Matt previously about getting some sort of exercise machine so after Christmas we looked around and found a few I liked. We ended up finding a great deal on a Livestrong machine. It was a little more then I wanted to spend on something like this but I did test it out in a store and it was UH MAZING!
Now we just need to get our butts in gear and clean out the bonus room. This has turned into our “oh where should this go….bonus room!” While this room has been great as a catch all we are going to have to do something different since the elliptical will take up so much space. Plus I need to find a place to set up my sewing machine and we need space for Matt to do P90X. So our weekend should be fun.
After all the chaos from work, I’m thinking it will be good for me to be able to come home and relieve some stress. Bring on the exercising!

Cruising
A few months ago Matt’s parents asked if we would like to go on a cruise in the Spring. Of course we said yes and now we will be taking a family vacation to the Caribbean over my birthday! Whoop whoop! That is the one great thing about having a March birthday. My birthday almost always landed during Spring Break. 🙂
Today his mom booked our trip and we are going to Cozumel, Belize, Honduras, and Costa Maya. I am really looking forward to Belize the most. I think it looks like a beautiful place. Not to mention neither Matt nor myself have ever been on a cruise so this will be a new experience for us. I guess I can put in my vacation request at work soon too. hehe. My coworker is going to hate me. 😉
YAY Cruise!

Oh, you want my info?
One thing that really really annoys me are mass FB messages. I don’t mind getting FB messages, I mind getting messages addressed to multiple people. Why? First off if you have a question then you need to just ask me. I am NOT going to respond to any FB message that needs my information or input addressed to multiple people. Secondly, getting the notifications drives me absolutely bat shit crazy! I do NOT care what 50 (or even 5) other people say unless the message is specific to those included people.
Why you ask might I bring this up? My cousin is getting married and apparently thinks that mass FB messages are acceptable for obtaining information such as my address. It annoys me to no end that she can’t message people separately for this stuff. I do not care to (nor will I) share this information with random people I don’t know. On top of the fact that she just got a wedding invitation from me last year. My info has not changed and if you didn’t keep this, well that’s just poor planning on your part.
As I said, I have no issues what so ever with getting FB messages or even using FB messages to get this sort of information. I do understand that FB is super convenient and an easy way to contact people but come on. I know she is currently overseas but that is no reason to not be courteous to people. Hell I think we FB’ed a few people to get certain info. But we also only contacted that person.
I have the same issue with emails sent to multiple people (like your entire address book) and you don’t BCC people. Just don’t do it people!

Why Thank You!
*First off let me just say that work has been beyond crazy since before the New Year and when I get home the only thing I really want to do is absolutely nothing. I know my blog has reflected the craziness with a whole lot of nothing.*
I’ve been a really bad person when it comes to my 401k. My current job is the only job I’ve had that actually offered this but I didn’t really make enough to feel like I could contribute, even though my company will match up to 3 percent. {And when I say I didn’t make enough I literally mean this, pay check to pay check is no fun.}
Now that Matt and I are married my financial situation is much better, mostly due to Matt’s income. 🙂 A few months ago there was a 401k meeting at work and I asked Matt if he wanted me to enroll, he said that was fine. Well I never picked up the packet to sign up. This week there was another meeting so I asked a co-worker to grab me a packet since he was going. He did not but I ran in after the meeting to get one. I then headed out to meet Matt for our Friday lunch. When he pulled up I handed him the packet to look over later. Anyway, when I got home yesterday he was like you got some interesting mail. I looked on the counter, looked at him and then looked again and I’ll be damned if there wasn’t a letter from John Hancock saying deposits had been made to my account per my company. What?!?!?
Apparently I was supposed to have been automatically enrolled back in 2008 but for some reason I was never enrolled. Now my company is honoring the 3% they would have contributed had I been enrolled. How crazy is this? We got the letter in the mail today and Matt just checked my account. I know have several thousand dollars in a 401k. AWESOMENESS!
I honestly have no idea when, why or how I wasn’t signed up but whatever. I guess I will actually start contributing to my 401k and add to the fund. 🙂
